Who We Are
We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal data is handled in a safe and responsible way.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the information shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. After your comment is approved, your profile picture (if available) becomes visible to the public in the context of your comment.
The Gravatar privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Media
If you upload images to the website, please avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images posted on the site.
Cookies
- If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again. These cookies last for one year.
- If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
- When you log in, cookies will be set up to save your login information and display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, screen option cookies for one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. Logging out will remove the cookies.
- If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. It includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article. It expires after one day.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (such as videos, images, or articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor had visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content if you are logged in to that service.
Who We Share Your Data With
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How Long We Retain Your Data
- Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so we can automatically recognize and approve follow-up comments instead of holding them for moderation.
- For registered users (if any), we also store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except username changes). Website administrators can also access and edit that information.
Your Rights Over Your Data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you may request:
- An exported file of the personal data we hold about you.
- The deletion of personal data we hold about you.
This does not include data we are obliged to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
